THE GREAT INDIA RUN 2016

Conceptualized by ProSportify, the 5K Fun Run will also be flagged off simultaneously from the NID Paldi Riverfront to Vallabh Sadan Riverfront Route early morning.

One of the longest runs in the country's sporting history spanning 1480 km, it features 15 of the best Indian and international ultra marathoners. While the running group may have diverse origins, hailing from across Europe, Asia,

Africa and the Americas, they have but one aim, which is to spread the message of fitness and wellbeing.

The Great India Run that was flagged off from New Delhi on July 17 has traversed through Gurugram, Manesar, Jaipur, Udaipur and is set to touch Mumbai on August 4, two days ahead of the earlier scheduled date, August 6.

The runners, whose origins span the corners of the world all came together for the cause running. The Great India Run, which was a run for a cause rather than a competition was aimed at promoting running and fitness as a way of life, ahead of the 2016 olympics to be held at Rio De Janeiro.

In order to achieve their objective, runners persevered to make their way from Delhi to Mumbai, covering a distance of 1480 km over the course of 18 days.
